OCTOBER IS HERE ALREADY!
School is in full swing! Our first graders are getting used to the lay of the land. Along with our new students, they began the year by making their pledge to "Step Up to Learning" at our annual Banner Painting. Their handprints will be on a banner that will hang in our hallways until they graduate! We also had our first birthday bash for the September birthdays! The kids had lots of fun eating ice cream, playing bingo and taking home a new book to read for their birthday. Our annual walk-a-thon was a huge success and we even had a visit from our school mascot, Spike the Dragon! Thank you to all the volunteers who came in to help out!!
This month is a really busy one full of events and fun things going on. We have our Fall Book Fair with a pre-sale on the new "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book. We are also having our Family Ice Cream Social night. Be sure to send in the forms to pre-order your ice cream! Our October Birthday bash is on October 15th. If you have an October birthday child and would like to volunteer that day make sure to contact us. We are having a Snack Sale with hot pretzels, cinnamon buns, cookies, and chips. This will take place on the half days during the week of October 20th. Watch for the flyer so you don't miss out! The brochure sale is this month (10/19) with delivery being right in time for New Years. Order your Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough or Yankee Candle for family and friends. We round out the month with our Halloween Festivities!!
Please note, our Halloween Dance is Thursday, October 30th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. Tickets to the dance are first come, first serve and we sell out every year so make sure to get those tickets in right away! We are going to have a DJ, a photo booth, raffles to win great prizes. There will be pizza and all sorts of other fun. Don't miss out on this awesome family event!
If you haven't sent in the $10 membership dues, please do so and be added to our PTAnewsletter. If anyone has any questions, please e-mail me at email@example.com. I am always open to comments, suggestions, and ideas.
