2004 - 1 First Place, 3 Second Place, 2 Best Use of Newspapers, 1 Seimans' Technology Award, 1 NJ Navel Museum Award

2005 - 1 National Finalist

2006 - 1 First Place, 1 Second Place, 2 Third Place *First time the Exhibit Category was swept by one school district

Social Studies Teachers from the Middle School have earned a number of awards/recognitions both locally, regionally and nationally.

6 MEMS Teacher's of the Year

2 NJASCD Award for Outstanding Middle School Programs

National Geographic Society Summer Program - 2 Participants

Alfred & Rochelle Belfer Conference at the Holocaust Museum, Washington, DC - 2 Participants

Ellis Island Summer Program - 1 Participant

Underground Railroad - Summer Program - 1 Participant

Learning from the Challenges of Our Time: 9/11, Terrorism and the Classroom - 1 Participant

In addition, teachers from the Middle School have presented locally and regionally in topics ranging from Geography, Technology, Effective Middle School Programs and Holocaust/Genocide to name but a few. They have also worked with students to develop their NJ History Day Projects and many MEMS teachers are participating in the Teaching American History Grant.
