Hello Parents and Staff of Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District

This year Persons Associated with Special Services PTO had successful fundraisers in their Kid Stuff and Entertainment books. We sold 586 Kid Stuff books and 141Entertainment books. Thank you to all the parents that purchased these books!

This is the 4th year that PASS has given back to the special education department of Manalapan-Englishtown in the form of Lakeshore Gift Certificates. In the next week, 108 special education personnel will receive a Lakeshore Gift Card in the amount of $150 a piece ($16,200.00) to buy whatever is needed in their classrooms to benefit our student population.

We are proud to announce the 2010-2011 P.A.S.S. Executive Board Members:

August 30, 2010

Dear Parents and Staff Members:

I would like to welcome all of you to the 2010-2011 school year. PASS (Persons Associated with Special Services), is the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District's Special Needs PTO.  We will need your support since I have only 4   people on the board and no committees at this time to make our fundraisers and PTO  a continued success.  I do have a teacher liaison willing to help in each school to disseminate information to colleagues in their building. 

This past year we gave 113 special ed teachers $175.00 a piece for a total of $19,775.00 to buy supplies from Lakeshore to help our students. PASS needs parental help to continue our mission of helping the special education students in Manalapan. 

This year PASS information can be found on the district website under PPS then click on PASS or any meeting notices on channel 77.

PASS will continue to provide grants to our teachers which directly impact our children.  This year we will give all resource, self-contained teachers, occupational therapists and speech teachers a gift certificate to Lakeshore Learning Center to buy whatever is needed for their classrooms.  This will be funded by our Kid Stuff/Entertainment book sale.

Our fundraisers planned for this year are Kid Stuff/Entertainment books  and school magnets which will be sold at back to school nights.  Additionally, Kid Stuff books will be sold at each school on the following dates:

  Early Learning Center (flyer sale)   Oct. 4 - 12, 2010

  Milford (Entertainment book)  Sept. 13 - 21, 2010

There is an upcoming event of interest:

· A joint meeting with the Freehold Regional High School District and other sending districts will be in November, probably 7 p.m. as usual at Freehold Township High School.  The speaker will be determined shortly. This is free of charge.

P.A.S.S. is a group of parents, teachers, and special education personnel who come together to discuss all aspects of special education, exchange ideas, and work to improve the quality of education in our schools. We are a district-wide organization, encompassing all seven schools in the district.
