"Music takes us out of the actual and whispers to us dim secrets that startle our wonder as to who we are, and for what, whence, and whereto."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Music Department Vision
The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools' music program is designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression through music appreciation, creation, and performance. Our faculty consists of specialized music professionals whom are dedicated to providing our students with the finest aesthetic and academic music experiences and instruction. We encourage students to appreciate music on a higher level of understanding and recognize how music beautifies the world around us and contributes to daily life. Our district's formalized course of study in music education is a backward-designed, spiral curriculum that focuses on core academic vocabulary, connections to the New Jersey Core Content Standards, and cross-curriculuar connections through grades 1-8. Through a myriad of engaging activities and best practices in teaching, our music program meets the needs of diverse, multi-faceted, individual learners.
