Registration for Coding Club for 4th and 5th Graders (4th and 5th grade ONLY!) Coding Club Registration​: All Google forms must be submitted by October 11th

Coding Club is coming to Clark Mills o​ n October 19th. Coding is creating a sequence of instructions to enable the computer to do something. Your children will learn the basics of coding using different apps. Coding i​ s a great way to learn about beginning programming.

Sessions are listed below. Coding Club will meet every other Wednesday at 2:30 in Mrs. Kotofsky’s room 36 and pick up will be at 3:10 in the “side parking lot.

The Business Office has been notified by PNC Bank that they will no longer accept checks or money orders made payable to individual schools.  This applies to payment of fees, tuition, fines and student lunch account deposits.

Dear Parents/Guardians: 

Welcome to another exciting year at Clark Mills School! We sincerely hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer! We are thrilled that so many of our children were working on Reflex Math and reading over summer vacation.  We received many summer reading entries and are so proud of our students. In addition, we are thrilled to announce that we have transformed our media center into a media makerspace.  We would like to thank our PTO for their generous donation, which allowed us to purchase many of the items for the makerspace. We know the students are going to enjoy tinkering there!

Mrs. Gent and I are fortunate to have such an outstanding staff of educators and support teams who are truly dedicated to the well-being of our students.  The vast knowledge and skills our educators possess coupled with their compassionate and caring personalities are two reasons Clark Mills is a school in which students flourish and enjoy to come each and every day! Together the parents and staff form a strong team that will help guide our students through their educational journey.

Clark Mills School is our “home away from home”, and we look forward to working together with you, the students, and the staff to make this year an outstanding educational experience for your child.  By working together as a team, we will continue to create a nurturing and challenging environment in which all students can succeed! I encourage you to join us at our bi-monthly PTO meetings.  We have many wonderful activities planned throughout the year, and we encourage everyone to be part of the memories.

You will be receiving a great deal of information on the first day that must be attended to within the first week of school.  Please check your child’s book bag, review the information located on the school website under the heading “Back to School Documents and Letters,” complete the required forms, and return them to school by the dates indicated. 

Please note that our Student/Parent Handbook contains valuable information regarding policies and procedures regarding our school.  This can be found on the school website and in the student planner (Grades 2-5). Special attention should be given to school procedures that have been made to ensure the safety of every child and staff member in the building and on school grounds as well as to maintain the instructional integrity of our educational programs. 

Since we utilize the automated “Pay for It” system in our cafeteria, it is imperative that all students learn and memorize their student ID numbers that they will use when purchasing a lunch or snack.  Students who pay cash also need to enter their ID number, so it really is critical that they practice and memorize this number to speed up the process in the cafeteria.

Safety drills will be run as a matter of routine in the school along with fire drills so that students know what to do in case of an emergency.

Expect some minor bus delays the first week of school. Bus delays throughout the year are posted on the district website.

You are invited to attend our annual Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 22nd to meet your child’s teacher and to learn about his/her program.  In an attempt to allow parents/guardians with children in more than one grade-level the opportunity to visit with each teacher and to increase availability of parking, we will stagger our plans for the evening. 

Third, fourth, and fifth grade parents/guardians are invited to begin the evening at 6:00 PM in their child’s homeroom.  This portion of the evening will end at 6:40 PM.        

At 6:40 PM, support teachers/personnel (Music, Art, Physical Education, Media Specialist, Speech teachers, RTI/Reading/Math Intervention teachers, Resource Room teachers, CST, Enrichment teacher and our Nurse) will be available in their classrooms if you would like to meet them. This session will end at 7:10 PM.

At 7:15 PM, a session for parents/guardians of first and second graders will begin in your child’s classroom.  This session will conclude at 7:55 PM.

                                                                                                                        Please be advised that if you are unable to find parking in the Clark Mills School parking lot, you are welcome to park in the neighborhoods surrounding our school. Please DO NOT park in the Sons of Israel Parking lot.

We hope to see you Thursday, September 22, 2016.  Please remember that the purpose of the evening is for you to meet your child's teacher(s) and to become familiar with the program.  The teachers have been advised not to discuss individual students at this time. This is an evening for parents/guardians only.  Students/siblings will not be permitted to attend Back-to-School Night.

 Once again we hope everyone had an enjoyable summer, and we look forward to a school year filled with inquiry, learning and a variety of memorable experiences.
