	Clark Mills Students Exceed Reading Goal

The students at Clark Mills School were challenged to read 4,000 books during the month of March. The students voted for Mrs. Orlando, Principal, and Mrs. Gent, Assistant Principal, to dress as clowns if they met this goal. The students exceeded this goal and read over 6,000 books during the month of March. We are so proud of their efforts! On April 2, 2013, Mrs. Orlando and Mrs. Gent dressed as clowns to honor the students for reaching this wonderful reading goal! Keep reading!

	Clark Mills Talent Show

Pictured below is the cast from the Clark Mills 2012-2013 Talent Show, Clark of Ages. The talent show brought us back to the 80's! A big thank you to Mrs. Tobio and Mrs. Fiorentino for putting it all together and to the parent helpers for volunteering their time to help! The students were amazing and did a wonderful job showcasing their talents!


	Student of the Month

Congratulations to our April Students of the Month for the trait of "Trustworthiness". Our students received an award and a pizza party donated by our PTA. We are very proud of them!

Everyone "Steps Up to Learning" when they enter Clark Mills School! Students in grades one through five arrive at school each morning thoroughly excited to participate in a myriad of educational opportunities. At Clark Mills School we believe in educating the "whole" child. Not only do we teach children to read, write, and do arithmetic, but we educate and prepare our students to be responsible productive citizens and lifelong learners . We instill in them the feeling that, with hard work and dedication, they can achieve their goals. Our goal is to continue our tradition of educational excellence, and we encourage our students to develop their minds, expand their goals, and make their dreams come true. With teachers, parents, students, and administrators working together, Clark Mills is certain to provide the best educational experience for our children.

Clark Mills School has been educating students since its opening in 1957. Originally, the school was called the Gordon's Corner School and was much smaller than the structure you see today. Since its opening, the school has had four major additions including a new cafetorium in 2001-2002 and the addition of the John I Dawes Early Learning Center in 2007. Clark Mills School currently services students in first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades. We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and caring environment where teaching and learning are exciting and self-discipline, motivation, and excellence is strongly encouraged. Our goal is to assist the students in developing the skills to become global citizens in the 21^st century.

	Student Council Installation

The Clark Mills Student Council members were sworn into office at the Installation Ceremony on November 27, 2012. Mr. Brian Graime, Board of Education representative, and Dr. John Marciante, Superintendent of Schools, attended this special event to support our students.

	Reminder for Parents

Our staff has worked hard to set up end of the day procedures so that students are prepared with all of their materials when they get home. Please help us by impressing upon your children the importance of checking their assignment pads and backpacks BEFORE they leave our school.

In addition, please note that our Main Office closes at 3:15pm. Students will NOT be permitted to enter and retrieve forgotten items after 3:15pm. Please do not drive your child back to school after that time.

1. Go to the district website, on the left navigation bar, go to District Administration and select Technology.

2. Click on Technology Contact Form, and then enter your name, e-mail address and a brief comment stating that your address is blocked.

3. This mail will be directed to the tech department to unblock.
